Trinity Site
The world’s first atomic bomb was detonated in the Jornada del Muerto in 1945 at the Trinity Site. Ground Zero is open twice a year to the public for tours on the first Saturdays of April and October. Visitors can reach the site by traveling 12 miles east of San Antonio, NM, on US 380, turning right and continuing for five miles until reaching the Stallion Range Center. (575) 835-8927.
