Socorro Summer Youth Program

Note: with the exception of the Summer Reading Program (bottom of the page), info presented here is from 2011. Please check back - we'll add details when they are available!

The City of Socorro's Summer Youth Program still has openings for the month of July. The program runs Monday thru Friday from 7:45am to 5:15pm and is for children ages 4 to 14.

The session begins on July 6th and runs through July 29th at the cost of $40 per child. Activities include arts and crafts, games, swimming and a weekly field trip. Also included each day is breakfast, lunch and a snack. For further information contact the Youth Center at 575-834-3934.

Swimming Lessons 2011

City Pool, 1004 El Camino Real, Socorro

Lesson times: 10 am or 11 am (choose one)
Cost: $30 per session.

Session One: starts Monday, June 13th 2011 and meets Monday-Friday for three weeks.

Session Two: starts Monday, July 11th 2011 and meets Monday-Friday for three weeks.

Participants must be age four and older to join. At the first lesson, participants will be evaluated and placed in their proper level (beginner, intermediate, advanced).

Sign up at the pool beginning on Tuesday, May 31st 2011.

Pool hours: Monday through Saturday from 1pm to 4:30pm.

Summer Reading Program

Socorro Public Library, 401 Park Street, Socorro

2012 Program: "Dream Big - Read!"

There will be special programs, arts and crafts for older children, and story timne for preschoolers. There will also be prizes and reading incentives for books read or read to you.

The program begins on June 4, 2012 and ends on July 20, 2012. The "End of Summer" party will be held on July 24, 2012. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and the programs are free to the public.
