The Mayor’s Drug Task Force and the City of Socorro want to recognize and encourage our community's parents. We want to give recognition to parents who demonstrate positive parenting skills within the Socorro community and throughout the County of Socorro, so that these skills can be shared.

one another. We want to connect parents to real-life parenting successes, to support them and the children of our community.

The City of Socorro and the Mayor’s Drug Task Force are requesting nominations of parents or a single parent who demonstrate good parenting skills. If you would like to nominate someone, please complete the nomination form and submit to the address below.

We encourage youth to nominate adults that have made a difference in their lives, and encourage adults to nominate peers that have made parenting a priority.

The Positive Parenting Stories will be reviewed by a volunteer committee made up of community members. Selected parents will be recognized by the Mayor and City Council and their stories will be featured on this website. The Positive Parenting Stories will also be publicized in other media such as newspapers, radio, the Chamber of Commerce Newsletter, the City of Socorro Newsletter and Comcast Cable.
