October 1-3 - San Miguel Fiesta, San Miguel Mission
A Fiesta celebrating the Patron Saint of the Mission; there will be food vendors, music, dancing, bingo and games, and a nightly raffle drawing.

October 2 - Trinity Site Open to Public, White Sands Missile Range
Open to the public twice a year. This is where the first atomic bomb was exploded on July 16, 1945.

The Very Large Array hosts guided tours open to the public.

An annual celebration to commemorate the founding of the Hammel Brewery and Museum.
October 2-3 – Chile Proppers Model Aircraft Fly
The local Chile Proppers Model Airplane Club host this model airplane competition for fun and prizes.
October 6-9- 17th Annual Enchanted Skies Star Party
One of America’s leading star parties filled with a night observing the skies at 10,700 feet atop South Baldy peak, workshops and lectures for amateurs and professionals on current research frontiers.
October 8-9 - Alamo Indian Days
An annual fall celebration with food, craft vendors, and gourd dancing.
October 8-9 - 8th Annual Socorro Fest
An annual event for the community to strut its stuff and offer visitors a day feasting, dancing, visiting or just plain having fun.
October 9 - Sevilleta & LaJoya Open House, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
This event is held in northern Socorro County at the fifth largest National Wildlife Refuge in the Continental U.S. There will be tours and speakers.
October 22-24 - 88th Annual 49ers Celebration & Parade
An annual student event that many alumni regard as homecoming. A parade, a dance, powder puff football and a race up the mountain to refresh the “M” are part of the weekend activities.

November 16-21 - 23rd Annual Festival of the Cranes
There are four major components to the Festival: tours, lectures and workshops, exhibits and the Refuge.
November 19-21 - Festival of the Cranes Arts & Crafts Fair
Get a head start on holiday shopping with this array of jewelry, wood work, quilts, pottery, stained glass, paintings, and much more offered by local and surrounding area artisans.

December 3 - 7th Annual Luminarias on the Plaza and Beyond Art Stroll 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Members of Socorro County Arts display their artworks and crafts in local shops around the Plaza. Food, beverages and entertainment are provided as you follow the path of luminarias from shop to shop.
December 11 - Shop Socorro AUCTION 1 pm
Redeem receipts from local merchants for Socorro Bucks, then bid on merchandise donated by those merchants.
December 11 - Christmas Celebration at El Camino Real 11 am - 4 pm
