This survey and its results will be used solely to enable the City of Socorro and its partners to apply for federal funds to expand broadband access to our community.

2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced Wednesday that three New Mexico residents tested “presumptive positive” for coronavirus, the first confirmed cases in the state. A married couple in their 60s from Socorro County who had recently traveled to Egypt and a woman in her 70s from Bernalillo County who had recently traveled to New York City. MORE INFO

City of Socorro Municipal Utility Information

UPDATE - On December 9, 2019 the Socorro Electric Cooperative, Inc. file a Complaint for Declaratory Judgment, Anticipatory Breach of Agreement and for Permanent Injunctive Relief with the 7th Judicial District Court. They are asking for a declaratory judgment affirming the validity of the 1999 Franchise Agreement between SEC and the City of Socorro.

Mayor Ravi Bhasker’s Response to the SEC’s Co-op Corner

The City of Socorro would like to respond to items listed in the Socorro Electric Cooperative's (SEC) "Co-op Corner" August 2019 Edition. The City feels the SEC is using fearmongering to coerce Member/Owners to take a one-sided view of how the SEC is managed, sets its priorities and how actions taken by the City might effect members.
