Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goals for Federal Fiscal Year 2019-2021

The Socorro Municipal Airport hereby announces its Fiscal Year 2019-2021 DBE Goal of 4.53% for airport construction projects.  The proposed goal and goal-setting methodology are available for inspection between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a period of 30 days following the date of this notice at the City of Socorro Municipal Offices, 111 School of Mines Road, Socorro, NM 87801.

UPDATE - On December 9, 2019 the Socorro Electric Cooperative, Inc. file a Complaint for Declaratory Judgment, Anticipatory Breach of Agreement and for Permanent Injunctive Relief with the 7th Judicial District Court. They are asking for a declaratory judgment affirming the validity of the 1999 Franchise Agreement between SEC and the City of Socorro.

Socorro Electric Cooperative, Inc. Proposed Rate Increase Information!

On September 27, 2019 at a special meeting of the Socorro Electric Cooperative, Inc. Board of Trustee's, the Board Voted to appeal the Public Regulation commission's rejection of its proposed rate increase to the New Mexico Supreme Court. Now it is the SEC vs. The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission!

Mayor Ravi Bhasker’s Response to the SEC’s Co-op Corner

The City of Socorro would like to respond to items listed in the Socorro Electric Cooperative's (SEC) "Co-op Corner" August 2019 Edition. The City feels the SEC is using fearmongering to coerce Member/Owners to take a one-sided view of how the SEC is managed, sets its priorities and how actions taken by the City might effect members.
