The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has completed a study of the Interstate 25 (I-25) Interchange at County Road 91 / East Road in Escondida, New Mexico. Using engineering analysis and public input, a preferred improvement alternative has been selected to addresses existing physical deficiencies, upgrade drainage, improve access across the Nogal Arroyo for farm vehicles, school buses, and local traffic, and enhance bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
The preferred alternative includes a tight diamond interchange with updated geometrics and extensions of the east and west frontage roads. The project team is currently developing the design and NMDOT is seeking construction funding.
