This Project significantly improves public health and safety by replacing less effective wastewater treatment methods that pose environmental risks. The City of Socorro is implementing the following fee schedule and guidelines for eligible developed properties are outlined below.
In accordance with City Ordinance 25-08-19, all developed properties located within 100 feet of the newly constructed wastewater collection lines are required to connect to the City’s wastewater system. To make this process more accessible, the City is adopting a rate structure designed to encourage timely connections from all developed properties within the project area.
This Fee and Rate Schedule shall be in full force and effect on September 28, 2025 and after publication as provided by law.
Fee and Rate Schedule
A. Wastewater connection fee for existing properties (with current water meters or wastewater needs) outside the City limits:
During Year 1 $650.00 per Connection ($400.00 connection fee; $250.00 WWSE Fee/Impact Fee)
- If paid in full at the time of the request, the cost will be reduced by 10%.
- If paid in payments, payments are to be $50.00 per month for 13months.
Following Year 1 The cost of a connection will be $1,000.00 or the going rate for City wastewater connections – whichever is greater. The connection fee is to be paid in full at the time of the request.
B. Wastewater connection fee for existing properties (with current water meters or wastewater needs) within the City limits:
