New Mexico Tech Aquatics Town Hall
Dear New Mexico Tech Students, Faculty, Staff, and Socorro Community Members,
We invite you to join us for a Town Hall meeting to discuss the future aquatic services at New Mexico Tech and our possible transition to a regional aquatic center.
As many of you are aware, the NMT Swim Center has faced significant infrastructure challenges over the past year. After extensive professional inspections and a comprehensive programming study for our new Wellness Center, we have reached a pivotal moment in how we provide these services to our community.
This Town Hall will serve as an opportunity to present our long-term vision, including:
- An update on the facility’s structural health and the necessity of its future closure.
- Details on our potential partnership with the City of Socorro to provide a year-round facility.
- A look at the phased construction plan for our new on-campus Wellness Center and how student and community priorities shaped the 10-year development timeline.
University leadership will be present to share this information and, most importantly, to hear your concerns and answer your questions.
